ABOUT THOTHX MERIDIAN
Safeguarding critical infrastructure in geostationary orbit
ThothX Meridian is a Space Situational Awareness (SSA) company providing persistent, high-precision monitoring of satellites in geostationary and geosynchronous (GEO) orbits.
GEO is home to some of the world’s most strategic space infrastructure, supporting essential civil and defence services on Earth, from secure communications and broadcasting to navigation and atmospheric monitoring. As our reliance on these assets grows, understanding what is happening in this critical region of space becomes increasingly important.
ThothX Meridian provides the data and capabilities needed to help operators protect these assets and operate safely and sustainably in space.
OUR MISSION – MAKING GEO SAFER AND MORE SUSTAINABLE
Our mission is to contribute to the safety and long-term sustainability of activities in GEO, protecting both space infrastructure and the essential services on Earth that depend on it.
By providing persistent, accurate and timely information about satellites in GEO, we enable better-informed decisions and help operators identify and respond to potential risks.

PERSISTENT AWARENESS, POWERED BY RADAR
At the core of our capabilities is Earthfence, ThothX’s proprietary radar technology designed specifically for monitoring deep space.
Our radar systems are capable of continuously collecting near real-time data on the position, distance and status of satellites in GEO — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in all atmospheric conditions.
Unlike optical systems, radar does not depend on clear skies or daylight conditions. This enables persistent monitoring and provides highly accurate, mission-critical information when operators need it.
Data collected by our sensors is securely processed and delivered to end users through proprietary digital platforms in a fully automated workflow, from data colection to actionable information.
PART OF A GLOBAL DEEP-SPACE RADAR NETWORK
ThothX Meridian is part of the ThothX Group, a unique commercial radar operator dedicated to deep space.
From Portugal, we provide persistent GEO monitoring across the Atlantic and Europe, complementing ThothX radar capabilities in Canada and Australia.
Together, this global network is designed to provide radar coverage of approximately 95% of the GEO belt, creating a unique commercial capability for persistent deep-space situational awareness.
Our European contribution is supported by two sovereign radar infrastructures in Portugal: one in Sintra, on the Portuguese mainland, and another on São Miguel Island in the Azores.

TECHNOLOGY WITH A SUSTAINABLE FOOTPRINT
For us, sustainability in space begins with safer operations.
Better awareness of the orbital environment helps operators protect satellites, manage risks and preserve access to critical orbital regions for future generations.
That same principle shapes the way we build our infrastructure on Earth. Rather than constructing entirely new facilities, we recover, reactivate and repurpose existing infrastructure for advanced space surveillance applications.
By bringing strategic assets back into operation and equipping them with ThothX radar technology, we combine technological capability with a more responsible approach to infrastructure development.

OUR PRESENCE IN PORTUGAL
AZORES
ThothX Meridian is headquartered in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel. The island is also home to one of our two European radar infrastructures currently being recovered and prepared for operation.
ALFOUVAR
Our mainland Portugal office is located alongside our first European radar infrastructure, currently undergoing recovery and reactivation.
Together, these sites place Portugal at the centre of ThothX’s European contribution to persistent monitoring of geostationary orbit.
PROTECTING SPACE – SECURING SERVICES ON EARTH
From communications and navigation to defence and environmental monitoring, life on Earth increasingly depends on infrastructure operating thousands of kilometres above us.
We provide the persistent awareness needed to help safeguard that infrastructure and the orbital environment around it.

OUR JOURNEY
FOUNDATION – 28/11/2023
ThothX Meridian was founded in Portugal with the ambition of establishing a sovereign European deep-space radar capability and extending the ThothX global network across the Atlantic and Europe. Since then, we have reached several important milestones.
