EUSPA Cassini Challenges 2024 – High-Resolution Imaging of GEO Spacecraft
Supported through the 2024 EUSPA CASSINI Challenges, ISAR4GEO focuses specifically on extending radar observation beyond detection and ranging to the imaging and characterization of spacecraft in GEO. The project applies Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) techniques and advanced image-reconstruction algorithms to Earthfence observations to generate high-resolution 2D representations of spacecraft. This additional layer of information can provide insights into satellite configuration and status, increasing the analytical value of radar observations for Space Domain Awareness. ISAR4GEO was selected as a winner of the Prototype Track of the 2024 CASSINI Challenges, supporting the development and demonstration of this new capability.
