PRR Vouchers for Startups – Earthfence Deployment and Digital Services
Supported by Portugal Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) under the “Vouchers for Startups – New Digital and Technological Products” programme (AVISO N.º 21/C16-i02/2025), this project supported the first practical deployment and validation of Earthfence in Portugal using the 32-metre telecommunications antenna at Alfouvar, near Sintra. The project focused on integrating the radar system with the existing infrastructure and conducting real-world transmission and reception tests to validate and optimise its operation. In parallel, it supported the development of the digital data-processing and delivery chain required to transform radar observations into scalable Data-as-a-Service products accessible to customers through digital platforms. The project therefore represented an important transition from technology adaptation to the operational validation and digital commercialisation of Earthfence from Portugal.
