ThothX Meridian Joins NATO STO SET-340 Research Activities

ThothX Meridian’s CEO, Ben Quine, and Head of Operations, João Salmim Ferreira, participated in a meeting of the NATO Science and Technology Organization SET-340 Research Task Group, held at Goonhilly Earth Station in Cornwall on 25–26 March.

Entitled “Multistatic RF Sensing for Enhanced Space Domain Awareness,” SET-340 brings together specialists from NATO countries to explore advanced RF sensing and multistatic radar architectures for improved discovery, tracking and characterization of resident space objects.

Invited through its engagement with NATO DIANA, ThothX Meridian presented its capabilities to the group, with co-founder Ben Quine delivering a dedicated presentation on the company’s perspective and potential contribution to future activities.

Discussions covered recent bistatic radar experiments, observations at different frequencies, signal-processing developments and future experiments at GEO distances. The meeting also created an opportunity to explore potential cooperation with Goonhilly Earth Station in Space Domain Awareness.

Participation in SET-340 brings ThothX’s operational deep-space radar experience into an international research environment closely aligned with the future development of Earthfence and advanced multistatic sensing.
