ThothX Meridian’s Head of Operations, João Salmim Ferreira, participated in the ESA Industry Space Days 2024, held at ESA’s ESTEC technical centre in Noordwijk, showcasing its deep-space radar capabilities and Space Situational Awareness services to the European space community.
As an ESA BIC Portugal incubatee, the company was selected to exhibit within the ESA BIC Village, where a dedicated booth provided a platform to present Earthfence, its capabilities and development plans to companies, institutions, technology providers and investors.
Over the two-day event, discussions explored potential cooperation in radar hardware and signal processing, software development, testing and certification, Space Traffic Management and the integration of complementary sources of space observation data.
The event also opened new institutional relationships. Exchanges included potential cooperation with the NATO Space Centre of Excellence, engagement with ESA’s Zero Debris Initiative, and discussions around future commercial applications for Earthfence data and participation in European space programmes.
Industry Space Days expanded ThothX Meridian’s network across the European space sector and helped position its Portuguese operations within a wider European capability for persistent monitoring of critical space infrastructure.
