ThothX Meridian featured in Correio dos Açores

ThothX Meridian has been featured in a prominent interview in Correio dos Açores, following the company’s selection for NATO DIANA’s 2025 Accelerator Programme.

The story received front-page coverage and a two-page interview with Managing Director and co-founder Francisco Wallenstein, addressing the origins of ThothX Meridian, the Earthfence technology and plans to establish a deep-space radar capability in the Azores.

The interview explained how the Azores emerged as a strategic location for extending ThothX’s radar coverage across the Atlantic and Europe, complementing existing and planned capabilities in Canada and Australia. It also explored the advantages of radar over optical monitoring, particularly its ability to operate continuously and independently of weather conditions.

A central focus was the company’s selection from more than 2,600 applications for NATO DIANA and the opportunities the programme creates in terms of expertise, mentoring, infrastructure, partners, investors and potential customers.

The feature also looked beyond ThothX Meridian itself, addressing the potential of the Azores as a space location and the importance of attracting talent, supporting entrepreneurship and ensuring that space projects generate tangible benefits for the regional economy.
